Medical Records Access

All patients aged 16 or over can request the ability to view all new information added to your electronic GP record.

Any information on your GP record dated on or before the request will not be available, you will still need to request access for this.

You will still be able to submit a Subject Access Request for copies of your medical records if you wish to.

What does this mean for you?

  • If you already have full online access...

    If you already have access to your full records, your access will remain the same.

  • If you already have "core" online access...

    If you have limited access to your records, you will be able to request to view new information added to your GP record by completing a request form and providing identification. This includes consultations, results, and documents.

  • If you don’t already have online access...

    If you don’t already have online access, whenever you sign up to the NHS App you will be able to request to view new information added to your GP record. This includes consultations, results, and documents. Please complete a request for access to medical records form and provide identification

  • For children under 16yrs...

    For children under the age of 16, who have an NHS App account, you will automatically be granted access to your GP record once you turn 16 if you request this.

  • For new patients registering ...

    For patients registering with the practice, you will be able to request to view new information added to your GP record from your registration date
